Something out of Nothing

Are your dreams a far cry from your current reality? If yes, then you’re in good company. My hopes, dreams and aspirations are many times removed from my current reality but I think that’s okay, provided I remain focused.

Yesterday I was with friends and I mentioned one of my dreams to them complete with timelines, and they started laughing. They laughed because they know my current situation and could not fathom how it was going to happen within the timescale I mentioned.

Then I figured if they think it’s impossible, then it means an in track. The God I roll with is the God of impossibilities. I know that I have nothing now but that too is okay, God’s area of expertise is making something out of nothing.

So to myself and to all those in similar situations, keep focused on the dream and keep at it. If it scares you senseless and everyone around you thinks you’re crazy, then you’re probably on course.

God bless us all.

Listen

We are in the season of Christmas and Christmas stories are filled with divine revelations. God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary; and told Joseph in a dream first to accept the child and not divorce the mother, then to flee with his family to escape the wrath of Herod. God sent his angels to announce the birth of the messiah to the shepherds, and then told the wise men from the east to return home via another route in a dream.

A friend of mine asked me the other day if God still speaks? Does he still send his angels and does he still speak to us through dreams? I strongly believe this is still the case. For some years I have been paying close attention to my dreams and have previously written about my personal experiences (https://veritasbonafide.blogspot.com/2018/03/the-dreamers_24.html). As we start another year, I would like to share another experience and encourage someone, if you are not already doing so, pay attention to what God is saying especially through dreams. They are as important as the messages he gives us through angels disguised as people.

Sometime in the middle of last year I was in a difficult situation at work and it was affecting me physically, psychologically and mentally. What made it particularly difficult was I struggled to see the end. Not knowing when it will be over compounded an already bad situation. At the height of this situation I had a dream; in this dream God showed me the end. I didn't quite get it at the time but he showed me what I was going to be moving on to and showed me it would take me to Ukraine in 2019. That dream marked the beginning of my mental, psychological and physical recovery. I did not know how but I knew everything was going to be okay. It took several months for that dream to come to pass. Today I am living the physical manifestation of that dream as the picture above shows.

So this year let's pay more attention, let's listen. Perhaps it may be a message to guide you in a certain direction (Mary receiving the message that she would be the mother of the son of God); perhaps it may be a message to protect you from danger (Joseph receiving a message to flee from Herod with his family), perhaps it may even be a glimpse of the future to help us overcome a difficult situation and give us hope. Whatever it is, let's listen more this year.

May God bless us all.

The Dreamers.

I am a dreamer. In a week I dream 4 out of 7 nights; and on each night I will have at least 3 dreams.

Dreaming is exhausting for me because of the sheer number. In the past I didn't take note of my dreams, though there were some that were so vivid they stuck. I did not try to recall them either. If it was something that disturbed me, I would just pray and then forget about it.

As I have gotten older and grown spiritually, I have come to understand the importance of dreams and I have learnt to distinguish between them; dreams of light (messages from God) and dreams of darkness (attacks from the evil one). And because I have started making a conscious effort to understand what the message is in my dreams, I have started writing them down.

As with everything else, once something is written down, it comes to life. It becomes real and you can clearly see what the message is. And getting to the message is crucial, because God still speaks in dreams.

So if you are a dreamer, take note of your dreams. Write them down or speak to a trusted person about them who can help you understand what the message is. Over and above that, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the message to you so you can act on it.

Few points to note:
1) Everyone can be given a message by God through dreams. It is not reserved for the 'righteous or spiritual'. We know Pharaoh was not a believer in God, neither were his cup bearer and chief baker. But they all received dreams from God.

2) Pay attention to your dreams as therein might contain an important message that requires an action. You cannot act if you have not taken note.

3) Seek for help to interpret if you are not clear. We can seek guidance from men of God, we also have the Holy Spirit to enlighten us.

4) Take necessary action. For dreams of revelation, faith is required. We must believe what God has revealed and act accordingly. Then we can sit back and watch everything unfold.

God bless us all.
