I watched a Bollywood movie today (my latest fave) while catching up on some me work. The title of the movie was Sui Dhagaa and there was a line from the movie that has stayed with me; ‘When our pockets were empty, we were fearless’. This expression reminded me of another i have known for a while and used to sing as a child, ‘He that is down need fear no fall’, the first line of a poem written by John Bunyan and later made into a song.
There are a lot of successful people who started from something, started from some kind of base; but there are so many who started with basically nothing, whose forays were born out of frustration and rejection. Feeding on that rejection and frustration without giving up became the backbone of their success, and of so many of the successful people we see today.
There is a reason why the most successful people in the world are not white-collar employees. Having a steady income sometimes does just enough to keep one from being frustrated. When there is no frustration to feed hunger, one eventually loses sense of the pangs of hunger.
Entrepreneurial success is born out of frustration.
So if you’re an entrepreneur feeling frustrated, you have the right food to feed your hunger. Use your food wisely.
